My advisor, Konrad Mauersberger, went on to become
the director of atmospheric sciences at the Max Planck Institut fuer
Kernphysik
(MPIK) in Heidelberg, Germany. This is where I collected the data for
most
of my thesis. I was something of a bridge-person, as I was a student at
the University of Minnesota, where Konrad was a professor at the time,
but also collaborated with Dieter Krankowsky and others at MPIK.
Konrad has since retired and come back to Minnesota, the better to see
his kids and grandkids!
