Previous Month Conditions

The surface climate conditions of the previous month in the state are posted around the middle of the month. It is addressed to all Marylanders so they can stay current with the latest climate conditions impacting their lives.

Surface air temperatures and total precipitation data used in the report are preliminary in nature and come from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) sources:

• The Monthly U.S. Climate Gridded Dataset at 5km horizontal resolution (NClimGrid, Vose et al. 2014). This data set provides surface monthly data over continental U.S. for the period 1895-present.


• Monthly U.S. Climate Divisional Dataset (NClimDiv, Vose et al. 2014). This data set provides area-averaged mean values at Statewide, Climate Division and County level at monthly resolution for the period 1895-present.
